What Ground Are You Standing On?

Exodus 3:5

"Do not come any closer," God said. "Take off your sandals, for the place where you are standing is holy ground."

Can you imagine going for a walk and coming up on a bush that is on fire, yet it is not burning up?   You step a little closer to investigate and from the bush God calls out to you. Reading Exodus 3, my first thought was how cool would that be to have God speak in an audible voice...HOLY COW, or as my mission buddies would say, "VACA SANTAS"! Not only does God speak, but He spoke through a bush that was on fire! Here is God telling Moses to stop in his tracks, take those nasty shoes off because you are getting ready to get up front and personal with the Almighty God. Good night, I believe this is where God want's us to be, so close that we are standing on holy ground. Taking our shoes off, removing our worries, halting our plans for the day just so we can embrace the One True Living God.

This "holy ground" is not a special piece of land, but a special moment in the presence of God. I am so overwhelmed right now, to think that God would bring me to this very place. I know for me there are days when my quiet time is out of ritual. It happens just so I can put a checkmark by that "task" on my to do list. As I am writing this another verse came to mind and it is found in Matthew 6:6 (MSG), "Here is what I want you to do; Find a quiet secluded place so you won't be tempted to role play before God. Just be there as simply and honestly as you can manage. The focus will shift from you to God and you will begin to sense His grace."

Where is your worship? Do you experience the presence of "I AM WHO I AM"? (vs14)
